Our entrepreneur, Tine Larsen, started out as an interior designer but following her dream, she changed her career after completing 5.5 years of a new degree in complementary medicine. In 2006 she opened her first Embrace Life® complementary medical centre, which two years later evolved into a new department, Embrace Life Competence Centre, focusing on education and training people to treat themselves. After taking over her family farm with her husband she developed her own receipts for phytotherapy products and started growing, harvesting, and producing fully organic products such as spices, tea, ointments, skin-care, soaps, candles and much more. Chefs internationally use her spices and some of the ointments are used and recommended by hospitals in Norway. These ointments are also covered by the Norwegian health care system. Her company has a barn store, guesthouses, and guestrooms to let, locations for seminars and events as well as an academy in plant medicine. Tine is passionate about developing new ideas and supporting entrepreneurs worldwide. She has also been a principal teacher at the American International University in London (now the Regents University) and lectured at De Montfort University in Leicester. In 2018 she engaged a new partner to develop a network for local products, suppliers, artists, and designers. In 2020 they opened “The House of Senja” (Senjahuset) where creative souls can meet, create, share, display, and sell their products.
